Organization
The original Dental Faculty was established on August 16th, 1961 and was located at the Faculty of Medicine in Mongolian University, according to Resolution No. 461 of the National Council of Ministers and Order No. 253 of the Minister of the Ministry of Health. The first dental section was part of the Otorhinolaryngology department, with Professor Tseden as a department head, and were recruited with 30 paramedics from 18 Mongolian provinces. They were instructed by Ch. Tserendulam, one of the first five dentists. This was a foundation for the development of Mongolian dentistry. The heads of the department were Professors Selee D. (DDS, PhD), Norovpil Ts. (DDS, PhD), and Associate Professor Tsolmon Kh (DDS, PhD). The Department of Oral Medicine was expanded into the Oral Medicine Research Center, which includes three departments: Operative Dentistry, Maxillofacial Surgery, Prosthodontics and Orthodontics, in accordance with President Lkhagvasuren Ts.'s directive, A/61, dated November 28, 1995. The head of the Oral Medicine Research Center was Professor N. Purevjav N. (DDS, PhD), and the heads of Dental School were Professors Oyunbat B. (DDS, PhD), MD, Amarsaikhan B. (DDS, PhD) , and Associate Professors Ariuntuul G. (DDS, PhD), and Otgonbold J. (DDS, PhD). Since September of 2011, Dental School located in the North Campus of the National University of Medical Sciences, which has been operating in the territory of 11 districts in the Chingeltei district of Ulaanbaatar. Dental School is firstmajor University Hospital in Mongolia which diagnosis and treatment varous maxillofacial diseases in the country. 46.6% of all teaching staff have PhD degrees and have studied abroad in Japan, South Korea, the Republic of Cuba, Hungary, the Federal Republic of Germany, Taiwan, and the United States of America. The staff at the university provide a leading strategy and collaborative approach to patient care and treatment. Moreover, professors and dentists of Dental School are working as consultant doctors in major clinical hospitals such as the State Dental Center, the First Central Hospital of Mongolia, and National Center for Maternal and Child Health of Mongolia

Dental assistants /professional training / each of these individuals is provided the titles of dentist, oral technician, oral hygienist, and dental assistant.
