Department of Periodontics and Endodontics was established in September 30, 2019 as the 7th department of the School of Dentistry, MNUMS. Prof. P. Oyun-Enkh (PhD) was appointed as the Head of the department in October 2019. Former members included Associate professor B. Bayarchimeg (PhD), lecturer Dr. Kh. Oyunkhishig (MsC), lecturer Dr. O.Tsetsen (MsC), dentist Dr. B. Gereltuya, and dental assistant M. Tumenjargal.

Currently, Assoc. Prof. B. Bayarchimeg is working as head of the department, Dr. P. Oyun-Enkh as an senior lecturer, Dr. Kh.Oyunkhishig, Dr. E. Nyamsuren (PhD) and Dr. Osvaldo Cabrero Roche as a lecturer, and M.Tumenjargal as teaching assistant. Dr. O. Michidgerel (MsC) is working as contract teacher of the department. Our department started resident training in periodontics and endodontics from 2021 and in 2023 successfully organized the first graduation.

The aim of the departments is to develop the field of periodontics and endodontics, train specialists with comprehensive capabilities, conduct research and training, and introduce new technologies. Our team provides diagnosis, surgical and non-surgical treatment of periodontal disease, gingival enlargement and graft, bone graft, emergency treatment, root canal treatment and re-treatment, root canal treatment complications, tooth restoration and caries treatment.
