On September 1st of 2017, the department of Orthodontics was founded with 10 members and a department head as G.Ganjargal according to the presidential decree of MNUMS № 101. A professor from Tokushima university Eiji Tanaka and a professor from Meikai university Naota Suda are working as visiting professors. Current staff members of orthodontics are Od. B (Ph.D.) as a department head, Bolormaa. S (Ph.D.) as a lecturer, Oyunjargal. B (M.Sc) as lecturer, Tsendsuren.Kh (Ph.D.) as a lecturer, Tsasan. T (Ph.D.) as a part-time lecturer, Otgontuya. D (Ph.D.) as a part-time lecturer, Zolzaya. B (M.Sc) as a clinician and part-time lecturer, Sandag-Ochir. A (M.Sc) as a clinician, Maral. E and Narmandakh . E as a nurse, Oyuntugs. R (M.Sc) as a dental radiologist, part-time lecturer, Telmuun. G as an x-ray technician, Turbold. G as an x-ray technician.

Members of the department of orthodontics programmed 5 new curriculums for undergraduate education, 1 curriculum for postgraduate education, and 10 new curriculums for graduate education, and provided more than 5000 hours of education. Furthermore, our 2 doctors and more than 10 masters defended their degrees, and published and presented more than 100 scientific articles and presentations in Mongolia and internationally. Our department members worked on 3 projects. Department lecturers are representing the Mongolian Association of Orthodontics in the world orthodontics association, Mongolian association of orthodontics became the 20th member of the Asian Pacific Orthodontic Society.

To improve the quality of education we are cooperating with the Orthodontic and Orthopedic

departments of Tokushima university and Taipei university as 2-week residents exchange program and collaborative case presentations. Department of orthodontics of Central Dental Hospital, MNUMS provides orthodontic diagnosis, treatment, orthognathic cases treatment, functional appliance treatment, tongue crib, MRC, biotherapy, mini-screw, MEAW techniques, and radiology and orthodontic faculty takes 6 types of a dental x-ray.
