The department of Pediatric and Preventive Dentistry of the School of Dentistry was primarily founded in 2000 January 07 by the Appendix No.7 of the Order No.A/02 as a department of the Pediatric Dental Disease and Prevention with a 4 teachers.

From 2000 between 2004 Professor, PhD L.Munguntsetseg, from 2006.09.06 between 2021.03.15 Professor, PhD B.Oyuntsetseg, from 2021.03.15 between 2022.04.14 PhD J.Delgertsetseg were worked as a head of the department. Starting from 2022.04.14 PhD B.Tselmeg were appointed as a head of the department. In the current academic year of 2022-2023 the Department of Pediatric and Preventive Dentistry has 7 main lecturers, 1 pediatric dentist and 1 nurse.

The Department of Pediatric and Preventive Dentistry provides training dedicated to undergraduate, post graduate specialization and professional developmental courses.
