Department of oral and maxillofacial surgery

The Department of Oral and Maxillofacial surgery of the School of Oral and Maxillofacial Sciences of ASUU was founded On November 26, 1995, by  the order of Ts.Lkhagvasuren.  Today, the Department of Oral and  Maxillofacial Surgery of the School of Dentistry of MNUMS conducts  training, research and specialist activities in an independent structure.   Professors who majored in each specialized field, such as maxillofacial deformities, oral cancer, maxillofacial reconstruction, cleft lip and palate, implants, temporomandibular joint diseases, plastic surgery, maxillofacial trauma, and infections, conduct research and education.

The Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, based on the results of research and evidence, provides high-quality and accessible oral and maxillofacial clinical care services to clients, trains leading specialists in the field of health, provides comprehensive research and management, and provides comprehensive maxillofacial surgery and treatment support.

 Training

Through its educational activities, the Department  covers diseases of the oral cavity,   maxillofacial anesthesia, tooth extraction, odontogenic and non-odontogenic  infection, its complications, trauma  of the maxillofacial area, malignant and benign tumors,TMJ disorders, salivary glands disorders, facial neuropathies, orthognatic surgery, continuing theoretical and clinical training in facial neuropathology, reconstructive surgery, treatment of congenital and acquired defects.

Treatment services

The department has been carrying out numerous theoretical and clinical studies of OMS until now. The teachers of the Department  provides diagnosis, treatment, and preventive care for patients with tumors of the oral cavity and maxillofacial region, infection, TMJ disease, facial nerve disease,salivary gland disorders congenital lip, palate  cleft, malocclusion, orthognathic and reconsructive surgery,  plastic  surgery,  implants, impacted molars, and infection of the maxillofacial area.
